I was quite looking forward to watching Love and Leashes (even when after being a little disappointed when I realised it was a film and not a drama). It was a role that was unexpected of both Seohyun and Jun, so I was interested to see how they would come across and also how South Korea would make a film starring two idols (one from the Nation’s Girl Group at that!) all about BDSM and on such a global platform as Netflix.

Love and Leashes (2022) follows the unlikely office romance between Ji Woo (Seohyun) and Ji Hoo (Jun) the new transfer to her department. After some misunderstandings and misdirected post, Ji Hoo thinks that Ji Woo is also into BDSM and asks her to be his Dom. After initially refusing, Ji Woo becomes interested in broadening her knowledge and experiences so eventually accepts. She makes sure that she understands what Ji Hoo needs from her, and is sure in her sentiments that there is nothing wrong with Ji Hoo’s sexual tastes is clear.

While containing several scenes of BDSM activities, they are done without judgment and this film is essentially about normalising the Sub/Dom relationship when done by two consenting adults, by using several rom com tropes that we’re all familiar with.

I think Seohyun and Jun did a fantastic job as the leads, and we had some wonderful costars as well, such as Hye Mi (Lee El) and Ji Woo’s mother (Baek Hyun Joo). There are many cute and funny moments and I highly recommend it ♥ 9.8/10

I love when models crouch in puffy gowns, it makes pretty shapes you wouldn’t normally see.

The red off the shoulder dress and platform heels are from Valentino Garavani. The necklace and earrings are from ille lan.

I really like how they both have softer and more vulnerable expressions in this photo.

Seohyun is wearing a pretty crop top blouse and trousers from Miu Miu. The shapes of these items are so cool!

Jun is wearing a suit jacket from Heute (I wasn’t able to find this brand) and trousers from the stylist collection. He is wearing another necklace from Aphrose.

Look at this cutie!! Jun really did a great job of having the mannerisms of a dog and when he barked… he sounded just like a dog!

The outfit is also adorable. The jacket and shirt are from Navy by Beyond Closet (I couldn’t find either items on the site, and the online shop for the brand Navy is closed). The shirt is great and matches the jacket logo in a cool way. The jeans are from the stylist’s collection. And the shoes are from The Shuri.
