Rebel Detectives πŸ” Ep. 2 Recap

Am I supposed to be shipping our geniuses? Because I am haha

training camp questionsThe Star Future boys deny a girl staying the night, but HanEum concludes that the lip print on the note belongs to a girl, so one must have stayed.

The boys easily admit they lied because they don’t want to be disqualified for breaking the rules and that JoonYoung’s sasaeng fans are dangerous. They explain that JoonYoung slept outside because his girlfriend wanted to give him a surprise birthday party. And the girlfriend just so happens to be our very own episode 1 bully – Kim TaeHee.

HanEum and JinKyung think that the case will be simple to solve and they just need to check the CCTV. However, Oh Sung doesn’t agree. He thinks a male sent the note, and somehow got the lip print while TaeHee was sleeping.

A member of staff at the camp reveals that the CCTV camera by the team’s tents is broken. We then watch footage of EunWoo (a member of the team and the one looking most shifty) breaking the camera.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team are confronting EunWoo. One of them saw him with the note and we find out that EunWoo and JoonYoung don’t get along.

EunWoo confesses to the abduction.

JinKyung takes EunWoo to the station, while our two geniuses go to question TaeHee. They ask if JoonYoung is her boyfriend and she gets defensive, which just leads our geniuses to bicker about how neither have a girlfriend (and haven’t since they met at 7yrs old).

pretty taeheeBack on topic, TaeHee agrees that she was at the camp and that she left at 3am. Her card transaction receipt on her phone proves she paid for a taxi home. The news that JoonYoung has gone missing is revealed and TaeHee asks if they have looked into EunWoo. She tells them that he is obsessed with her and said he was going to give JoonYoung sadness for his birthday.

Meanwhile, JinKyung is interrogating EunWoo. His reason for kidnapping JoonYoung is that without him, EunWoo would be no.1. And considering how this investigation is unofficial, EunWoo knows that he will still be performing on the Future Star 501 live show. EunWoo says he’ll release JoonYoung if they win without him, but if they lose he can’t.

The interrogation gets interrupted by EunWoo’s father and lawyer, who are outraged that a minor is being detained without any evidence and no lawyer is present for the conference callquestioning.

JinKyung phones our two geniuses and tells them to go to EunWoo’s home and find out if he’s the culprit.

EunWoo’s younger sister lets the pair in and they introduce themselves as friends of her brother. They tell her they are here to delete something dangerous (something ‘erotic’ haha) from EunWoo’s computer for him.

HanEum’s computer program looks into EunWoo’s search history and they find information on abductions and equipment purchases. However, HanEum’s program also shows that EunWoo’s computer has been hacked and believes the search and purchase history have been manipulated.

another twist

Thoughts:

The investigation procedure is lacking. A lot. But it’s fun and ridiculous. And I am intrigued as to where JoonYoung is and why EunWoo is covering for someone.

Also, I’m still confused as to how JinKyung found out about this… none of the boys reported it, and the investigation is unofficial… there’s a boy missing?!

I still don’t see what purpose JinKyung has yet, which is frustrating because she is the actual detective and I’m so used to OCN female cops being kickass and proactive in their jobs. The episodes are very short, so I understand you can’t fit a whole lot in, but she could be at least useful! I mean she interrogated EunWoo and hardly asked anything…

I’m pretty much just here to see what ridiculousness occurs next haha~

Thanks for reading! I hope you are having a great day~
