I saw this on Buzzfeed and thought this would be fun!
Books are generally better than the adaptations, but there has been some amazing adaptations! I hate to say this but don’t take my decisions personally! None of this matters haha~
I’m only doing the books/films from the Buzzfeed list that I have both read and seen.
Let’s do this!
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
I don’t think I could get rid of Philosopher’s Stone otherwise I would only have the film version of Goblet of Fire… I’m thinking ahead guys! That’s the best book, but worst film! Even though I am a little sad at seeing Emma Watson mouth everyone else’s lines haha~
So, the film has to go!
The Lord of the Rings
Soz Tolkien.
I actually loved Two Towers and Return of the King, but the films are just so beautiful and exceptional! Also, I never want to have to read The Fellowship ever again! I hate myself, but not that much haha
The books have to go!
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
I have read both Alice’s Adventure and Through the Looking Glass (Lewis Carrol) and I didn’t like either. The Disney film is better structured and I enjoy the art and colours – I’m basically a 7yr old haha~
The book has to go!
Call Me By Your Name
I read the book last year and watched the film pretty soon after. André Aciman has a beautiful writing style, but Luca Guadagnino’s film adaptation is stunning! The visuals and the music go perfectly with the story.
Ahh this is so hard!
To be honest, I think I would prefer to watch the film again rather than reading the novel.
The book has to go!
Twilight
I love the Twilight books. I think they are well-written, fun and I like the characters. I even read all four books recently and I had a grand time~
Twilight is my second fave book of the series, I’ve read it many times and the book actually has conversation between our leads. Edward is funny and Bella has a backbone~ Fight me! haha 😂
The Twilight film is so funny in its badness! but the books win for me~
The film has to go!
Howl’s Moving Castle
This is so easy for me. The film wins hands down.
I enjoyed the book, but the direction it takes, with the Welsh element is strange and I didn’t really like that aspect.
The Studio Ghibli film is absolutely beautiful! Hayao Miyazaki is a genius ♥ And I have it in a manga form as well, so I can watch and read it. It’s a win-win situation for me!
The book has to go!
Do you agree with my decisions? Or would you choose otherwise?
Thanks for reading! I hope you are having a lovely day~
