💭💭💭

April has come round so quickly, but yet it still feels like 2026 has dragged along in the moment.

Life’s unfair, but 2026 is actually taking the mick. This post is mostly for my brain to work out and be somewhat accountable for what I want to achieve goals/challenge wise for the rest of the year.

But before that, I’m going to start this update on a win. I successfully got a bingo in r/Fantasy Bingo 2025 🎉 r/Fantasy is a Reddit forum that runs a yearly reading bingo challenge which takes place between 1st April and 31st March.

Could I have gotten 2 bingo’s if I moved Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales to the ‘Epistolary’ slot? Yes. However, Wendell is an icon and his love of dressmaking/tailoring should be recognised!

With just the books, my average rating was 3.44. If I added in the ‘Not a Book’ square, which I watched I Am Dragon for, the rating becomes a basic, but solid 3.5⭐. Overall, it’s not the best, but for the most part I read a lot of books that I’d either been putting off and/or are new to me authors. I’m really glad I picked up Pagans by James Alistair Henry! I had no expectations going in and had so much fun!

On the 1st of April, the new r/Fantasy 2026 Bingo Board was announced and you can find out more information on their reddit page. I will definitely be taking part and I’m hoping for a higher average rating on my second go.

And, talking of bingo boards, I love them! I think they’re such a simple, yet fun way to do challenges. I also find that it’s less pressure on my mood orientated brain and I’m happy to just win by getting one bingo. Blackout boards are for people stronger than me.

At the start of the year, I created my own ‘lifestyle bingo board’ and while I have some trepidations about actually getting a bingo, I’ve only changed my loyalty stamp card at the moment as I put the same number of possible bingo’s as stamps… I’m an idiot.

🌸🌸🌸

I also have quite a bit of unread historical romance on my tbr which I want to get down to then explore the genre more. This is one that I want to complete a blackout, but I’m not going to be pressed if, by the end of the year, I’ve only managed a bingo. I have backdated it to include March because I finished the Hathaway’s series (Lisa Kleypas) in said month and that’s what inspired the board.

I’ve also put this on TheStoryGraph if anyone is interested in adding it to their challenges 💕

My ‘Dramas’ bingo is going abysmally, as is my Film Club of one.

With the drama bingo, I have until September to try and get that bingo and I’m determined. I need to stop getting halfway through a series and then just randomly stopping.

With the Film Club picks, I think I’m going to at some point just have watched them all and do a ranking post, or something similar, rather than being so in depth.

I’m just finding it so difficult at the moment to watch things. I think it’s harder to stay focused on a screen than a book as there are just so many components that my brain has to take in.

🌸🌸🌸

I’m still hoping to work on my Buzzword Book Cover and Cross Stitch series, but I’m a little behind on the March book. But hopefully that will be a staple every other month!

My aim is to post at least two or three posts each month. As we go further into 2026, DramaRambles may go quiet for a while. Not to get too into it, but I have a very unwell family member.

I’m hoping that blogging and my hobbies will be able to be a reprieve from what is happening around me.

🌸🌸🌸

Thanks for reading! Please do let me know if you’re also taking part in any fun challenges in 2026!

I hope you’re having a lovely day and staying safe 💕
