Once again, I’m late to the party and sharing my favourite April releases near the end of May. One day I will get better at this 😅

I found April a little disappointing – I really wanted to like a lot more than I did – but I’m happy with what I did really like ♥

The songs are in order of release date.

Magnetic – Kwon Eun Bi

I really like the pre-chorus and chorus combination. I’m happy I have another Eun Bi song to add to my favourites~

Oh-eh – DAYBREAK x LUCY

I just love LUCY so much and I really like the collaboration with DAYBREAK (another kband I’m interested in checking out now) on this 2nd part. The scatting near the end is fun!

Finally – nautilius

Such a beautiful voice and pretty ballad!

Dice – Onew

How could I not love Dice?! Onew doing a fun and upbeat title track? Yes please! Also we love lemon lady in this household~

I also really like Yeowoobi from the album.

I’ll go first – EPEX

I haven’t heard an EPEX song before, so I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll go first has pretty vocals and this is definitely the strongest song on the album.

I wanted to like the other songs as they all have interesting beats and most of the raps were so good, but some of the vocals and pacing put me off.

MAISON – Dreamcatcher

MAISON has really strong vocals and beats that is quintessential to the Dreamcatcher sound. This was the song that got them their first win and while it’s not their best song, I’m super happy that they’re getting recognition as they deserve it!

I also really liked Starlight as the vocals were pretty and it had a retro (almost MAMAMOO style) sound to it.

Each member has a solo on this album, which is really cool. I really liked Si Yeon’s song Entrancing ♥

Don’t Go Back – JUST B

This is more of a mix of ballad and rap that I really liked. The other songs on the album have some really strong raps, but it seemed that the vocals suffered for some reason…

FREAK SHOW – JEON SOYEON

This is such a cool song for the OST of currently airing drama Now On, Showtime!

Burning Up – Monsta X ft. R3HAB)

I love the chorus! This is a solid collab with R3HAB ♥

On the album I also like 사랑한다, it’s cute, but has enough of the emotive ballad and rap that I need. Plus, AND was great too.

TE AMO – MIYEON

While I liked Drive, it’s got cute and pretty vocals, I preferred TE AMO. Again the vocals are pretty and it have an acoustic, almost country/folk feel.

La Luna – ICHILLIN’

I found La Luna really fun and it has some interesting and good vocals. I found that I had to get used to the autotune and then it was a super fun listen!

GANJI – PSY ft. JESSI

This album was somewhat hit and miss for me. I loved GANJI ft. Jessi – this song made me feel so cool ♥

I also really liked how 감동이야 (You Move Me) ft. Sung Si Kyung has a more gentle and low fi feel to it compared to most of what PSY creates. Both voices sound great. I also liked 내일의 나에게 (Dear Me).
