My first post – which was only a couple of lines of text – was posted on 17.06.2015 and I started off mostly as a recap blog. I had been doing this quite a lot on Tumblr, but I just wasn’t a fan of the platform anymore and wanted to branch out to a different platform.
A few months later I began incorporating more kpop MV reviews and Top 5 Wednesday book posts (with some personal updates scattered in) and 2017 was when I stopped doing drama recaps. I was finding that recapping was taking far too long and it made watching the episodes a bit of a slog as well.
It also doesn’t help that I go through slumps very often… I’m currently in one right now despite enjoying what I’m reading and watching… 😭
Plus I was a University student and I struggle to balance. Which has followed me into my work life lol
I still enjoy blogging but…
- Am I good enough?
- Does anyone care about my content?
- Am I boring?
These questions plague me a lot. I love to blog and there are a lot of posts that I’ve made that I’m genuinely proud of! However, I fall into the category of constant comparer and I’m just worried that I’m not as interesting, eloquent or creative as everyone else.
I need to get out of this mindset and it’s going to be hard – obviously – but it’s definitely possible.
In December of last year, I did a post every day and I was not concerned about the views or likes because I was so focused on getting a post done. It was fun and I’m amazed I completed my challenge (with only a few hiccups).
- Alternating between 1 and 2 posts a week until I can work out a rhythm of getting it back up to two (or even three).
- Making one post a month that incorporates my interests and my life. This has been something I’ve been struggling with due to low self-esteem and body issues, but I’m working through these and hopefully I can make content I’m happy with in this area.
- Not look at the stats page on WordPress!
I’d also like to say that I’ve also been doing a cross stitch and it’s large. I have been doing it since the 24th of March. Every. Single. Day. Otherwise I will never complete it! I plan to limit myself from up to a maximum of 2hrs so that I also have time to read, watch dramas and work on my content for here. I’m not sure I like he colouring at the moment, it’s a little dark, but I’m excited to see how it looks at the end and I know I’m going to be proud of myself either way! ♥
Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to make my content better or if you have any tips on how you balance work and blogging etc!
Thank you for reading.
I hope you’re having a lovely day and staying safe ♥
