This tag looked rather wholesome and isn’t problematic in this period of pandemic. We should all be staying home as much as possible (if we can – i.e. aren’t key workers etc) and what’s a good hobby for this time?: reading! (or thinking about reading which I do more at the moment π ).

PROMPTS:
Laying in Bed
- Book You Could or Have Read in a Day:
The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff are incredibly easy to read because of the mixed media format, as well as the fast paced and action packed plot. I also read The Wrath & the Dawn by RenΓ©e Ahdieh because it was so compelling.
Oh and the A Series of Unfortunate Events are single books that can be read quickly and in one sitting. Right now, I don’t think I could read a book in a day, but once I get some motivation I feel that I could read The Lady Rogue in one day simply because I’m really excited about it!
There are some books I have finished in a day due to audiobooks. Of course, at this moment I can’t think of any π

- A Guilty Pleasure Book:
I’ve been doing this for a while and not using this phrase. It implies that I’m ashamed of what I’m reading and I don’t. Am I thinking too much about this? probably π
I’m not even sure… I suppose the paranormal romance books I read would be “guilty pleasure”. Some of them aren’t the best written or have the best plots but they still make you want to read more! Nalini Singh’s books probably fall into this category.
Netflix
- Series You Want To Start:
ugh, there are so many! Well, they are mostly trilogies, but same thing haha
- Cruel Prince Trilogy; Holly Black
- The Queen of the Tearling Trilogy; Erika Johansen
- Gone series; Michael Grant
- Dread Nation; Justina Ireland
- The Winternight Trilogy; Katherine Arden
Would you recommend these? Are they as good as everyone says?
Deep Clean
- Been on Your TBR For Ages:
This type of question is depressing π
Most of the books I have on my TBR have been sitting there from anywhere up to 10 years… for a post about my TBR, click here β₯
Animal Crossing
- Book You Recently Bought Because of Hype:
Am I the only person who doesn’t have a Switch (I’m poor and now unemployed π) and has never played this game?!
Erm, the most recent books I bought were Dread Nation; Justina Ireland which I’ve actually not heard much about and the other was Seasons of War; Derek Landy – a book I don’t even want to read because Phase 2 is just bad at this point.
Before this, I suppose it would have been The Beautiful; RenΓ©e Ahdieh. I think it got a lot of hype because it’s a vampire story and we don’t really get many of those in YA anymore. Hopefully, it’s good!
Productivity
- A Book You Learnt From or Had an Impact on You:
This is always a difficult question. Lots of books have had an impact on me, so instead I’m going to go with a literal book I learnt from: A Series of Unfortunate Events; Lemony Snicket. Despite being children’s books, the writing in this doesn’t talk down and I learnt so many new words from this series!
Facetime
- A Book You Were Gifted:
The last books I got gifted were the 2nd and 3rd books in the Lady Helen trilogy; Alison Goodman. These were gifted by my lovely friend Mel for Christmas β₯
Self Care
- What is One Thing You Have Down Recently to Look After Yourself?:
… Erm… ππ
BONUS
- Name a Book Coming Out Soon:
I don’t really follow book news, so the only book I can think of that is coming out is the second book in the Aurora Cycle; Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff.
The book is called Aurora Burning and is released in the UK on May 5th. The cover is stunning!!
Thanks for reading! I hope you’re having a lovely day and staying safe β₯
Loved this!
