1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2019.

So far this year I’ve rated nine books 5⭐

The ones that stand out are the Illuminae Files (Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff) and Noughts & Crosses (Malorie Blackman). Ooh and The Paper Magician (Charlie N. Holmberg).

I should go onto the next question or I’ll end up listing all 9 books haha ^^”

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2019.

For this one I’m also going to go with most surprising. I hated The Hobbit (so boring!!) and I didn’t like The Fellowship of the Ring (ugh so many trees and mountains).

BUT! I read Two Towers this year and I loved it!! I gave it 5⭐ and then immediately picked up The Return of the King because I wanted to stay with these characters and in this world!

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.

I have two. I bought Aurora Rising (Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff) and Bedlam (Derek Landy) on their respective release days and I really need to read them!

However, I want to finish the two books I’m currently reading before starting those. I need to give them all my attention haha

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.

Wicked Fox (Kat Cho) sounds so cool and I hope it gives me My Girlfriend is a Gumiho/kdrama vibes! As well as the second Lizzie Hardwicke book (Georgina Clarke).

5. Biggest disappointment.

Rumors (Anna Godberson) was a huge disappointment. The Luxe was okay, but I thought the sequel would have more of Diana. And while that did happen, I felt that the other characters lacked a lot. The romance that I was excited for did not go where I wanted. And then the “twist” at the end… my child Will deserved so much better and I will not be carrying on with the series!

6. Biggest surprise.

Can I say Two Towers again? I should read all the questions before I start a tag haha

While I was reading it I was contemplating all my life choices haha

I’m still amazed at how much I loved a Tolkien book after disliking the two previous books in the series.

7. Favourite new author (Debut or new to you)

I’ve never read Amie Kaufman or Jay Kristoff, but I read the Illuminae Files this year and I love their co-writing projects!

Also Jessie Burton! I just finished The Miniaturist and WOW!

8. Newest fictional crush

Vincent from the Die For Me series! Amy Plum knows how to write a swoonworthy French lead male! I also have a soft spot for every member of the Revenant fam – big shoutout to Ambrose! ^^”

Analyst ID:7213-0089-DN and my psychotic baby AI AIDAN from The Illuminae Files.

I won’t spoil on who the analyst is because I was so happy and surprised when I found out in Obsidio!

10. Book that made you cry.

I think I’ve cried 6 times this year while reading…

All the Illuminae Files had me crying.

The Return of the King had me crying for my children Sam and Frodo!

The Miniaturist started with a funeral (in the future, idk how else to word this… I’m so smart haha) and I still sobbed when a character died…

And I sobbed at the ending of Noughts & Crosses!

11. Book that made you happy.

The Paper Magician trilogy (Charlie N. Holmberg) because the romance was so cute and their cameo in the 4th companion book made my heart so happy! I love Ceony and Emery are too adorable! ♥

12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

Once & Future (Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy) has a beautiful cover! I love the sci-fi feel to the Medieval elements of the story. And who doesn’t like hot pink? :p
