I am finally free of essays and classes! Therefore, I have time to finally write this post and watch some kdramas that I’ve been ignoring.

This readathon spanned April 2nd – April 8th and in that time I read 3 books.

WRAP UP:

The Bane Chronicles, Cassandra Clare

To be honest I added an extra star just because I love Magnus Bane so much. This collection of short stories is great for any Magnus fan. They are funny and occasionally more emotional than expected, however the writing isn’t that great and some words just feel thrown in because they sound smart or fancy.

A Court of Thorns and Roses, Sarah J. Maas

I enjoyed this far more than I had anticipated. The faerie world of Prythian was very interesting and the politics of the High Lords was something I wished was explored more, but hopefully that will happen more in the next books. Feyre was slightly frustrating at times, but she was a feisty woman who stood up for herself and others as much as she was able to.

Any Duchess Will Do, Tessa Dare

This is my first delve into adult historical romance written by a contemporary author and I’m so happy I decided to start with Tessa Dare. I’ve seen people recommend her highly. This book wasn’t without flaws, but the atmosphere and huge smile on my face when I finished this book makes it a wonderful reading journey. Pauline was a great female lead and she stood on her own two feet, rather than being dependent on the male lead. Talking of, Griff was swoon-worthy! As were the (many!) sex scenes. I’m just glad I didn’t read this in public, I can only imagine how bright red I would have been haha
